The 1967 Lawrence Sports Advert Featuring a QPR Team Group

What turned into a bit of a series (honest!), so far I’ve included a 1980’s Hoover advert featuring Alan McDonald, and then there was Phil Parkes’ endorsement of Cossack Hairspray. Also Dave Thomas and Don Givens were used in a campaign by Gola in the 70’s. A 1908 Taddy & Co. QPR Cigarette Card from Series 2 – Harry Duff

Taddy & Co. produced three sets of cards in their Prominent Footballer series: 1907, 1908 and finally 1913. The first series has already been featured and this particular card is the third from the second series that was issued in 1908. Once again the series included two different back designs, ‘Imperial Tobacco’ and ‘Grapnel Mixture’. The Topical Times 100 Football Stars of 1930 Album (issued in 4 parts), featuring George Goddard

In 1930, the Topical Times issued a four-booklet illustrated collection of the top 100 footballers of the day. The legendary R’s player, George Goddard, was featured on page 11 in Part 2 alongside; H. McLenahan of Manchester United, G. Reed of Leeds United and M. McGregor of Falkirk. Taddy & Co. produced three sets of cards in their Prominent Footballer series: 1907, 1908 and finally 1913. The 1975 Revolutionary QPR Silk Scarf

I met up with Clive Roberts recently and amongst the items he kindly passed on, was an unusual mid-70’s QPR silk scarf. In the 1970’s, many R’s fans used to tie their silk scarves to their wrists. This particular scarf was described in the Supporters Club section of a November 1975 home programme as the: ‚ÄúRevolutionary Silk Scarf‚Äù – indestructible image, team and players heads in full colour, and priced at ¬£1.25. A 1908 Taddy & Co. QPR Cigarette Card from Series 2 – P. G. Skilton Taddy & Co. produced three sets of cards in their Prominent Footballer series; 1907, 1908 and finally 1913. This particular card is from the second series that was issued in 1908. Once again the series included two different back designs, ‘Imperial Tobacco’ and ‘Grapnel Mixture’.
