When Members of the QPR Squad Met ‘The Slaygirls’

‘The Silencers’ was released in the UK on 25th April 1966. On that same day, Rangers lost 1-3 to Gillingham at Loftus Road.

Later, some of the players met up with ‘The Slaygirls’ as part of the film’s promotion.

The caption to the pic shown below reads as follows: ‘Taking time off from duty, some of the Queen’s Park Rangers team pose with six American girls over here to publicise the film, “The Silencers”.

These curvaceous “Slaygirls” assist the film’s hero, Matt Helm, played by Dean Martin, to success through various hazards.’

Described as a ‘Spy Comedy’, Dean Martin played a retired secret agent, Matt Helm, who spends much of his time photographing glamorous models.

It became a big box office success, and three follow-up films were later produced, namely, ‘Murderers’ Row’, released the same year, ‘The Ambushers’ a year later, and finally ‘The Wrecking Crew’ in 1968.
