QPR U18 (2) – Ipswich Town U18 (5)

U18 Professional Development League 2

Team: Loades, Street, Gregory, Radojevic, Manufor, Lambert, Sutton, Hamid, Hassan, Neill, Scott

Subs: Jones, Skeete, Alves, Hayati, Kennedy

After a frantic start, the game settled down and honours were fairly even.

A searching ball from Emmerson Sutton was put behind and three successive corners followed, but they all came to nothing.

At the other end, Nkansa-Dwamena bombed down the wing, before cutting in, which resulted in Callum Loades going down and grabbing the ball.

For the home side, after taking hold of a loose ball, Ridwan Hassan smashed it just wide of the target.

At this point, Emmerson Sutton and Zach Scott switched wings.

Ipswich went close to opening the scoring when Nick Nkansa-Dwamena was set up by Ashton Boswell and his low strike came off the upright.

For the R’s, Zach Scott cut in and his subsequent shot cleared the crossbar.

The Tractor Boys took the lead in the 35th minute when Revin Domi’s low shot found the bottom corner.

Ipswich doubled their lead just a few minutes later after Rangers had lost possession. George Tarpenda found Chuks Uzor and the striker proceeded to pick his spot.

As the R’s looked to pull a goal back, Emmerson Sutton, now back on the right-flank, put over two dangerous crosses within a minute, but each time there was no one backing-up.

A good run by Charlie Street got him to the bye-line and after managing to keep the ball in play, his cross ended up being put wide from close range. Half-time: 0-2.

For the start of the second-half, Micah Hyde brought on Rico Kennedy at the expense of Zach Scott.

Rangers got off to an assertive start and early on, Hassan Hamid’s shot closely evaded the crossbar.

Looking offside, Revin Domi continued his run, and his effort was then well-saved by Callum Loades.

For the R’s, Hassan Hamid’s shot was well-blocked by the keeper and the ball went behind. The QPR No.8 then went over to take the corner and his cross found Rico Kennedy, whose effort was saved at the near-post.

Two changes were made on the hour mark, when Nicholas Alves and Kooshan Hayati replaced Jay Lambert and Arthur Gregory respectively.

After Emmerson Sutton’s low strike was kept out by Will Fletcher, the home side pulled a goal back. The QPR No.7’s cross eventually found Fraser Neill, who then stabbed the ball into the net.

Ashton Boswell broke away and as Callum Loades approached him, he side-stepped the R’s keeper and shot wide of an empty net.

Fraser Neill provided the equaliser, when, after winning the ball, he slotted it home.

The Tractor boys took the lead courtesy of Sidney Eldred.

Mr Baines showed Sam Manufor a red card following a pull-back from around 30-yards out. The free kick resulted in a tap in by Stevy Brouwers and a fourth goal for the Tractor Boys.

Afi Adebayo completed the scoring with a shot from just outside the box.
