I don’t remember who the opponents were but I do recall that the Ground was nearly empty and being very cold. There was an entrance fee for … Continue reading

He then bumped into you again a few years ago on a holiday cruise and you spoke about the Rangers. Is there any family connection with the R’s ? Bill Dolan – Rest In Peace

Posted on by Site Admin

I read the sad news in Friday’s Gazette that Bill Dolan had died. We used to have a few words after the match by the bus stop outside Northolt Station. He used to travel to most away games with the Supporters Club until he was too poorly to do so. As his health began to deteriate, he started to use a walking stick and then eventually he was confined to a wheelchair which had been paid for with donations from … Continue reading

The 1968-69 Season – First Account

Posted on by Site Admin

After the excitement of the 1966-67 and 1967-68 seasons, we had high expectations for our first season in the old First Division. After all, we had swept through the old Third Division and despite a nail biting finish, we had acquitted ourselves well in the old Second Division and we were on the crest of a wave. With what followed, the season, other than one or two games, seemed to be faint in the memory (for obvious reasons) and it … Continue reading

Congratulations To Big Dave And Family

Posted on by Site Admin

Charlie Marie was born four minutes past ten in the morning of the 15th December. Big Dave Evett and his son Dan are season ticket holders in the Lower Loft but Annette is a staunch Newcastle fan. Father and Grandad maintain that Charlie Marie is already an R’s fan and Dave wasted no time sorting out the appropriate Rangers paraphernalia for her. I hear that she is doing very well and already weighs in at 9lbs. Dave first brought Dan … Continue reading
