This was the first 18’s match for three weeks and the R’s started the game very slowly and almost paid the price after 8 minutes when Josh Ford lost the ball and the Northampton forward raced clear only to be denied by Chris Goodchild. Thankfully, the follow-up was then cleared off the line by a Rangers defender. On 16 minutes, QPR had their first attack when Josh Parker got to the bye-line and pulled it back but Chris Arthur belted the ball over the bar. Just before half time, a Northampton forward got to the bye-line and pulled it back for their number 7 who fired his shot just inches over the bar. Then at the other end, a Romone Rose shot was saved by the keeper. Half Time: 0-0

At the interval, Morgan-Cummings replaced Antonio German and a trialist came on for Danny Davenport. 5 minutes into the half, a Northampton forward upon receiving the ball, curled it around Goodchild to put the visitors 1-0 up. On 55 minutes, Romone Rose got involved in a bit of a fracas and the referee showed him a straight red. Shortly after, Morgan-Cummings was fouled by their keeper in the box but no penalty was given. 60 minutes into the match, Rangers drew level after a Josh Ford effort had hit the post and the ball then fell to Chris Arthur who crossed it back for Josh Parker to head past the stranded keeper.

20 minutes later, QPR took the lead when Parker, after making a fine run down the right wing, crossed the ball to Morgan-Cummings who then shot and the ball deflected past the keeper off of a defender. Just before the end, Harris picked up a head injury and was replaced by Lawrence. Also in attendance today were Alan Barnes, Froods, Roger Stokes and Clive snr.
