Team: Lumley, Kakay, Hamalainen, Goss, Paul, Phillips, Petrasso, Manning, Darbyshire, Grego-Cox, Rowe

Sub Not Used: Herdman

In blazing sunshine, Reece Grego-Cox did really well to set up our first goal after 7 minutes. He chased a ball down the left-wing almost to the bye-line that would have been a lost cause for many.

After taking control of the ball, he passed over to Ryan Manning, who squared it across the six-yard box and Danny Rowe was on hand to flick it home.

Joe Lumley made a great save from Romal Palmer, which was quickly followed by a superb block.

The R’s custodian made a flying save soon after from Josh Kay’s free kick. Then after 19 minutes, he stopped another powerful free kick that was belted directly at him.

There was some brief concern over Reece Grego-Cox as at one point he looked to have been knocked out, but thankfully he sat up after being turned round.

After 25 minutes, a Sean Goss corner was headed wide by Giles Phillips as he stooped down in the six-yard box.

The R’s almost doubled their lead in the 37th minute after a good move involving Manning and Grego Cox. Niko Hamalainen then got himself into the box and his miss-hit shot deceived the goalkeeper and came back off the post.

Following a Rangers attack, the Tykes defender who put the ball out for a corner went down and stayed down. He then had to be helped off while Sean Goss looked on by the corner flag. Half-time 1-0.

QPR went further ahead within minutes of the re-start. Sean Goss’s chip over Jack Walton rebounded off the crossbar and Danny Darbyshire was well placed to finish.

Five minutes later Mr Ajibola booked Sean Goss for what he perceived to be as a heavy challenge.

Barnsley pulled a goal back after 62 minutes. Facing two defenders in front of goal, Victor Adeboyejo wrapped his foot round the ball and placed it into the corner with Joe Lumley at full stretch.

Giles Phillips was then taken off and Charlie Fox replaced him and five minutes later Paul Hall introduced Eberechi Eze at the expense of Danny Darbyshire.

After 76 minutes, Reece Grego-Cox picked up on a loose ball handed to him by the Barnsley full-back. He went on to face the keeper one-on-one, but proceeded to shoot wide of the post.

Three minutes later, the referee booked Charlie Fox for a pull back.

Team captain Chris Paul made a superb saving tackle in the box to deny the visitors. However, they did equalise soon after when Adeboyejo slotted home his second of the match with the R’s defence all over the place.

Paul Hall made his final change when he brought on Aramide Oteh for Michael Petrasso after 81 minutes.

Ryan Manning scored a wonderful winner six minutes later when he curled the ball into the top corner from 20-odd yards.

Six minutes were added on and at the final whistle Rangers had recorded their third win from three.
