Taddy & Co. produced three sets of cigarette cards in their ‘Prominent Footballers’ series; 1907, 1908 and finally 1913 This particular card is from the first set of 595 cards which included 15 Queen’s Park Rangers players.
Ernest Hitchcock was signed from Aston Villa in 1907 and only made two 1st team appearances for the R’s despite scoring in both of them ! He made his debut in the opening Southern League game (Division One) of the 1907/08 season against Tottenham Hotspur. He was transferred to Manchester City in 1908.
