Glebe FC was established in 1995 as the junior team known as Glebe Globetrotters. This changed in June 2025 to Chislehurst Glebe ‘to reflect our permanent home in Chislehurst’.
Still raining as we turned into a narrow, dark, Foxbury Avenue, we carefully tried to negotiate the traffic and the numerous potholes leading up to the Clubhouse.
At least the 3g pitch guaranteed that the game would go ahead.
Seven minutes in, and Rangers took the lead. Following good work by Jake Coomes, Ridwan Hassan crossed the ball to Rohan Vaughan, who was well placed to finish from close range.
However, the home side equalised three minutes later after a ball in from Khavarn Williams on the left-flank, came off the post and Jaden Coleman, following up, tapped it home.
Mr David booked the Foxes No.5 after a heavy challenge on Philip Sanyaolu.
The home side could well have gone ahead when their No.10 squared the ball across the six-yard box, but somehow, it evaded everyone.
With the rain getting heavier, Rohan Vaughan took possession of Cory Adjetey-Brew’s excellent cross before belting the ball goalwards, which Harrison Carnell-Davis put round for a corner.
On 28 minutes, Philip Sanyaolu put the R’s ahead after his low-strike ended up going through the keeper’s legs following a deflection.
Two minutes later, the away side added a third after Jake Coomes had cut-in, and despite being clipped, the R’s winger let fly from just outside the box.
Alex Aoraha fired over the crossbar and soon after, Tom Cousins was shown a yellow card after kicking the ball away.
In driving rain, the Foxes reduced the deficit five minutes or so before the break. Jamie Philpot back-heeled the ball to Nathan Mampuno, who proceeded to slot it into the net.
Then, Jake Coomes’ angled shot was kept out by the keeper’s legs.
It became 4-2 when Alex Aoraha knocked the ball in near the far post after a good passing move.
There was still time for the home side to be awarded a penalty. Jamie Philpot stepped up after the infringement and placed the ball to the right of Joel Halliday. Half-time: 4-3.
Soon after the re-start, Rangers created a number of goalscoring opportunities. Tylon Smith headed past the target, then Harrison Carnell-Davis made a good save from Alex Aoraha, and Rohan Vaughan put wide Charlie Street’s low cross.
Jamie Philpot’s audacious attempt from over 30-yards was comfortably held by a retreating Joel Halliday.
The eighth goal of the evening came on 58 minutes from Ridwan Hassan’s powerful header.
Anthony Hayes made three changes on 62 minutes, which saw the introduction of Leon Scarlett, Fraser Neill and Ashley Trujillo at the expense of Jake Coomes, Philip Sanyaolu and Tylon Smith respectively.
And a few minutes later, Jake Leahy replaced Rohan Vaughan.
The R’s substitute was soon in the thick of the action, and after bursting upfield, his shot flashed just wide of the upright.
It became 5-4 in the 89th minute. As Charlie Street threw the ball back to Joel Halliday, the R’s keeper’s attempted clearance came off Jamie Philpot and into the net.
Into added time, and after giving the ball away, the home side’s attempt closely evaded the upright.
At the other end, Harrison Carnell-Davis superbly tipped Ridwan Hassan’s close range shot over the crossbar.
Mr David then blew the final whistle and the R’s were into the final eight of the London Senior Cup.
