QPR FC Women (0) – Actonians Ladies (0)

FA Women’s National League One (South-East)

Team: Clarke, Lewin, Searle, Wellesley-Davies, Gotch, Hill, Ali, Mehmet, Dzyadyk, Leach, Adebowale-Arimoro

Attendance: 102

Played at the home of North Greenford, it was the R’s who had the best of the early stages on a very heavy pitch.

However, Ellie Searle’s superb block on the bye-line prevented what could well have been a dangerous cross into the box.

On 25 minutes, Jess Leach’s angled attempt forced the keeper down to grab the ball.

Approaching the interval and Emily Hill’s audacious shot from over 35 yards, landed in the keeper’s gloves after one bounce. Half-time: 0-0.

Once again Rangers did get off to an assertive start, but most of the action was soon restricted to a midfield battle. as both sides endeavored to create goalscoring opportunities.

Actonians had begun to grow into the game, but the pendulum soon swung back in favour of the away side.

After Juliet Adebowale-Arimoro had been played through, and whilst under pressure in the box, she managed to get a toe to the ball, which ended up just wide of the post.

The first change was made after 64 minutes, when Fern Orchard came on for Jess Leach.

As the R’s looked to break the deadlock, Juliet Adebowale-Arimoro fired her shot at the keeper.

On 85 minutes, Danny Harrigan introduced Izzy Owen at the expense of Melis Mehmet, and three minutes later, Chloe Sampson replaced Juliet Adebowale-Arimoro.

Into the closing stages and an Actonians free kick, resulted in Kenny Clarke making an outstanding flying save.

Mr Mayer blew the final whistle shortly after.

Word came through after the game that Kendra (Kenny) Clarke was to join Oxford United. Good luck to her.

Also moving on was Saif Atrakji and I would like to thank him once again for all his assistance with various match details.
