FAWNL League Cup

Subs: Reid, Dzyadyk, Orchard, Hill, D’Santos, Stanley, trialist
Following a fairly even opening ten minutes or so at the Meadow, a great ball into the box closely evaded Natalia Makowska.
With the R’s looking increasingly dangerous and after some good inter-play around the box, Jess Leach shot just wide of the upright.
Rangers took a deserved lead on 15 minutes following Libby Doyle’s run down the wing. The QPR No.2 then cut-in before firing the ball into the top-corner.
Shortly after, Alana Munro shot over the crossbar after Chloe Sampson had taken possession of the ball on the left-flank.
The R’s doubled their lead on 22 minutes. Lilly Wellesley-Davies’ touch found Natalia Makowska on the right-wing, and as the keeper went down to grab the ball, it must have then come off a defender before going over the goal-line?

A collision in the penalty area resulted in Kenny Clarke and the Generals No.7 grounded with the latter in need of some attention. This prompted a drinks break.
On 34 minutes, Jo Blodgett, off balance, fired the ball over the bar.
Whilst under pressure from Izzy Owen, the Chesham keeper did well to get down and smother the ball.
However, against the run of play, the hosts got a goal back when Emma Bebbington headed in from a free kick.
With just minutes remaining, Fran Ali let fly from over 25-yards to make it 3-1.
This was followed by Chloe Sampson setting up Alana Munro and the R’s No.18 turning and shooting just wide of the target. Half-time: 3-1.
Into the second-half, and after some good play down the right-flank, Natalia Makowska’s ball in ended up being cleared off the line and going behind for a corner.
It was 4-1 on 49 minutes courtesy of Jess Leach’s superb lob from around 25-yards.
At the other end, the Chesham No.9 shot wide of the target.
A great run by Natalia Makowska got her to the bye-line, and her cross was then met by Jo Blodgett’s shot being comfortably saved by the keeper.
With the R’s still dominant, Danny Harrigan brought on three substitutes including Lexi Reid and the trialist.
Lilly Wellesley-Davies then set-up the trialist who slotted the ball home for goal number five.
Natalia Makowska was clearly fouled in the box, but the ref decided to give a corner instead?
Izzy Owen’s pass to the trialist resulted in the latter being fouled just outside the box and in need of some attention. The free kick ended up going over the crossbar.
Rangers increased their lead on 74 minutes when Lexi Reaid found Natalia Makowska, who proceeded to tap the ball in at the far-post.
Two more changes were made, which saw the introduction of Fern Orchard and Grace Stanley at the expense of Jess Leach and Natalia Makowska respectively.
On 82 minutes, Grace Stanley’s initial effort was kept out, but the R’s striker made no mistake with her follow-up.
With the hosts now down to ten players, Fern Orchard’s run down the right-flank took her past one defender and skipping past another, before sending over a low-ball, which then saw the trialist’s attempt going just wide.
It was back to league action next, when Danny Harrigan’s side took on Norwich City at the Oliver Connell & Son Community Stadium, the home of Hanwell Town.
