QPR v Scunthorpe United

Posted on by Site Admin

Team: Kenny, Orr, Hill, Gorkss, Connolly, Derry (Leigertwood), Faurlin, Mackie, Taarabt (Buzsaky), Ephraim, Helguson (German). Subs Not Used: Cerny, Ramage, Parker, Clarke. Attendance: 12,046 Adel Taarabt was appointed captain and some of the football particularly in the 1st half was absolutely wonderful. A good header from Orr following Taarabt’s corner put us in front. A fantastic lobbed pass through to Helguson was well controlled and a very good finish made it 2-0 after 41 minutes. We thought that the referee … Continue reading

In Memory Of Daphne Biggs

Posted on by Site Admin

Daphne died eight years ago today and, on hearing the sad news, I wrote the following short tribute to her:- ‘It was with great sadness when we heard that Daphne had died in hospital on Sunday morning. A great servant of the club for longer than anyone can remember. She, and her husband before her, had been on the old Supporters Club Committee and more recently, she could always be seen in the Box Office lending a hand. On a … Continue reading

Posted on by Site Admin

Team: Deane, Harriman, Sanderson, Doughty, O’Donnell, Olley, Bewick, Sutherland, Sharif, Francis, Andrade. Subs: White, McDonnell, Walker, Graham, Henry-Francis. The buses were re-routed at Fairy Corner just past Hayes & Harlington Station and then took a very wide detour before eventually pulling up at Harlington Corner much to the consternation of the passengers. A section of the street by the Red Lion pub was sealed off and had become a crime scene following a serious disturbance the night before. There were … Continue reading

Josh Parker Is Grateful For Support From His Adopted ‘Family’

Posted on by Site Admin

Josh Parker had a cracking pre-season and it’s nice to hear that Neil Warnock and some of the older players are looking after him. Good luck Josh and thanks to Yann Tear for writing the following article which appeared in today’s local Gazette – Steve Russell Josh Parker thought his chance of making it at QPR was as good as over after a humiliating month on loan with AFC Wimbledon in January. The teenager made just two substitute appearances for … Continue reading

Sheffield United v QPR

Posted on by Site Admin

Team: Kenny, Orr, Hill, Gorkss, Hall (Ramage), Derry, Faurlin, Mackie, Taarabt (Clarke), Helguson, Ephraim (Leigertwood). Subs Not Used: Cerny, Connolly, Parker, German. Attendance: 22,651 A very competent performance by Rangers at Bramall Lane, but it has to be stated that it was in the context that United were pretty woeful and that the exit of their Manager, Kevin Blackwell, after the game was hardly a surprise.¬† The R’s lost the toss and had to switch ends. Paddy Kenny received a … Continue reading

QPR U18 (2) – Peterborough United U18 (0)

Posted on by Site Admin

Team: Deane, Harriman, Sanderson, Doughty, O’Donnell, Olley, Bewick, Sutherland, Sharif, Adam Francis, Andrade. Subs: McDonnell, White, Graham, Brown, Henry-Francis. There was an Official from the FAI in attendance and earlier in the week, Frankie Sutherland had been named in the Republic of Ireland’s U18 squad for the forthcoming International Tournament in the Czech Republic later this month. Incidentally, R’s fan Garry Coady, is also travelling there with the squad as the Kit Man. I saw 17-year-old Mo Sharif a few … Continue reading

The 10th Indy R’s Badge Is Now Available

Posted on by Site Admin

My latest Indy R’s badge arrived recently and commemorates a welcome piece of silverware. The U18’s won the Youth Alliance National League Cup Final in May when they defeated Stockport County 4-3 at Loftus Road. It’s limited as usual to just 100. I have just six of my previous issue which depicts our first full England international, Evelyn Lintott both as a player and a soldier.¬† Also currently available are a few of both Alec Stock badges. They are all … Continue reading

QPR v Port Vale

Carling Cup First Round Team: Kenny, Orr, Hall, Connolly, Borrowdale, Mackie, Leigertwood, Derry (Oastler), Ephraim, Clarke (German), Parker (Rose) Subs Not Used: Cerny, Faurlin, Brown, Ehmer. Attendance: 6,619 What concerned me was that this was a chance for the younger players to make a mark ‚Äì and they failed to do so. They weren’t helped by some abject performances from the senior players like Hall and Leigertwood who I thought were shocking. I don’t like to think we are the … Continue reading
