Re: 4-0 FA Cup Win for the Women's Team at Bognor Today..
Chris' report on our Facebook group..
Lovely day trip to sunny Bognor Regis to see QPR Women play in the FA Cup.
Bognor Regis Town 0 Queen's Park Rangers 4.
A comfortable win in the end against a team I believe are two leagues below Rangers.
In the first quarter of an hour we had 3 efforts on goal without troubling the Bognor keeper.
azz Younger had a header in the fourth minute, Anna Dyzydak tried her luck with a shot from
the edge of the box five minutes later, then on 13 minutes a five pass move saw Taylor Bell
hit the left hand post with an 18 yard shot.
On 25 minutes another great move saw Dejaunel Bass have a 15 yard shot blocked on the line
in what was a mad scramble in the box.
The goal that our constant pressure deserved eventually came on 36 minutes with Taylor Bell
lifting her shot over the keepers outstretched arms.
HT 0-1
Second half started and we kept up the pressure and ten minutes in Dejaunel Bass was found in
the box by a great pass by Ellie Searle , she drove past the right back , got to the byline and laid
the ball back to the onrushing Jessie Leach who buried her 15 shot into the keepers right hand side.
On 60 minutes it was 0-3 with Halle Carn finding the net.
Three minutes later it was game over when Jessie Leach scored from a 20 yard free kick to make it
0-4.
Most of us Rangers fans were confused with the goal as the shot hit the bar , appeared to bounce down
on the line and the follow up header was smothered by the keeper.
In fact I spoke to fellow R/s fan Denise , who lives in Bognor, she was standing by the corner flag and
she informed me she didn’t think the ball crossed the line either.
FT 0-4.
A thoroughly deserved win against a very young looking side. I wish both their men and women’s team
success this season, it’s a lovely well run club and hopefully the club made a few bob as the women had
their record crowd of 472.
( I lost the scrap of paper I wrote notes down on so this is written from memory, apologies) See less
