Watford Yesterday....

Post by Steve Russell »

Chris Day was one of the players on the pitch pre-match & he duly
turned towards the away end to acknowledge the Rangers fans.

Paul Smyth didn't look match fit & why did we start with the 2 full-backs
sitting on the bench & none on the pitch :?:

There was one kicked off the line but the keeper was hardly troubled
as we lacked penetration with the ball going sideways, back, sideways,
back & then a long ball which either went out of play or to a Watford
player

Watford were pacey in attack, which we lacked in defence.
The first goal came from a ball played across the face of the goal
& the second was a free header

A very poor 'performance' up to added time when many Rangers fans
began booing the players.

Then out of the blue, Kieron Morgan let fly with that strike on the
half-volley :D

The changes made for the 2nd half did make a big difference & we
dominated play up to around 10 mins from the end when Watford
became dangerous again.

We deserved a point but it took the changes to give us that chance.

An awful performance in the first half cost us dear. we were lucky to be only 2-1 down.

After the interval we were well on top but could we get the equaliser? Could we hell!
Why was that I hear you ask...because we are NOT a Goal scoring team.

if Kone does not pay off or gets a long term injury we are destined for the bottom six possibly
relegation and probably one of the lowest if not the lowest scorers in the league

I expected that sort of reaction AT half-time but the 'performance'
was so poor for so long I guess many fans couldn't hold back until then!

But it all changed of course with that wonderful strike from Kieran Morgan

Square pegs in round holes springs to mind with that lineup at Watford.

The supporters turning on the team in our second league game of the season is not not good, not good at all.
