The Hounslow Game Earlier Today...

Post by Steve Russell »

Prior to kick-off there was a minute's applause in memory of Mark Lazarus.

If we were going to play without a striker again I would have put Nicolas Madsen
up-top.

The Middlesex side took the lead after around 90 secs from Nathan Collins' header.

Some good defending by Liam Morrison denied the Middlesex side a second goal.

Rangers had two off-target shots in the 1st half & we generally lacked movement,
unlike the visitors.

As the teams walked back to the dressing room, Steve Cook departed
with an obvious shoulder problem. He was eventually replaced by
Jaylan Pearman on 54 mins.

Joe Walsh made 3'/4 vg saves after the break including one when he dived
& stopped the ball with his legs.

Although we didn't look like scoring the movement & passing was better in
the second-half.

There was an occasion though when the ref allowed a quick free around the
centre-circle & although the initial pass was knocked forward the ball
still ended going back to the keeper!

Would liked to have seen Harvey Vale come on much earlier.

Latest on Michael Frey, Jake Clarke-Salter, Paul Smyth, Taylor Richards
& Uncle Top Cobbley

Chris Hewitt from our Facebook group....

'I think playing 90 minutes without a centre forward will not catch on in the football world.

We’ve done it in two consecutive games as well. And as for putting Chair upfront against a
centre back who is 7 inches taller than Chair was absolute genius.

We sell our only fit forward to Charlton, replace him with a player untried in the Championship
and following back to back preseason friendlies at home , he’s still untried .

So will we ‘experiment’ with an untried player in a league game versus PNE ??
Maybe the club have it all worked out using algorithms and stats on a computer.
