Wigan Yesterday.....

Post by Steve Russell »

The coach set off from Loftus Rd at 8am.
Awful crash on the motorway involving at least two cars & a lorry.
Looked as if the Fire Brigade were attempting to cut the driver
free from their car!!!

After a 55 minute stop at the services we arrived in the Stadium car park
in plenty of time. I soon bumped into Keith Rowley outside the ground &
then the players coach pulled up. Hamzad Kargbo was spotted getting off.

Another early goal for the opposition after a clumsy foul by Leon Balogun in the box.
Max Power stepped up to smash the ball into the back of the net.

Chris Willock certainly was making an impact. On one occasion after getting
through in the box he laid the ball off to Kenneth Paal on the bye-line who
proceeded to belt the ball high and over to the far side side for a throw-in!!!!!

Seny Dieng made a very good save in the 1st half. Our shot on target was fired
straight at the keeper.

Overall our tally was 3 shots on target only one that really troubled the Wigan
keeper.

Gavin Ward was poor, ignoring the shirt pulling/fouls...

I was told that Les Ferdinand & Chris Ramsey were in attendance & much of
the talk on the journey home was about them.

I left at the final whistle so didn't see the incident involving some fans & Leon
Balogun

794 R's fans.

Two wins from the last seven games???

Loft for Words saying Balogun said "about money saying you pay to
watch I earn no matter what and doing the money sign with his hand".
Disgusting if true and no excuse for that comment however much abuse he received.

It would have been only a 20 min train journey for me but I just could
not stomach watching that.

Therefore to avoid further damage to my mental well being I decided to
become a stay away supporter for the day.

I have to say I was disgusted with the result and performance against an
    absolute dross Wigan team :x

Any other job & he'd be sacked for bad performance.
That's one of the big problems with modern football.
