News from Chris on today's game:

'The under 18 side lost 3-2 at home today to Sheffield United in their last league game of the season.

All goals were scored in the first half. Rangers were 2-0 down but fought back to equalise, Sinclair Armstrong scoring one of the goals with a penalty.

Shortly before half time we conceded a penalty ourselves and the blades scored the winner.'

Report from the Club website...

RANGERS’ Under-18s were narrowly beaten by Sheffield United at Heston on Tuesday afternoon.

The visitors started fast and took a two-goal lead, before an R’s fightback brought the game back level.

However, two minutes before half-time, the Blades were awarded a penalty which was converted – and they managed to hold on to the lead.

Sheffield took the lead with the first real clear-cut chance of the game, headed home by Harvey Cullinan following an inswinging corner.

The R’s looked for a response and nearly found it after some good link-up play on the right-hand side between Adam Dougui and Harun Hamid, whose eventual shot was saved at the goalkeeper’s near post.

Just five minutes later, Sinclair Armstrong chased down a through ball and tried to lob the ‘keeper but, agonisingly, it hit the bar.

With 19 minutes on the clock, the visitors extended their lead after some build-up on the right-hand side, and the ball was finished off by Will Lankshear.

Just past the half-hour mark, Rangers responded as Riley Cotter played a good through ball to Armstrong who was brought down in the box. He got up and dusted himself down before converting the penalty right in the bottom corner.

Four minutes before half-time, the Super Hoops were level. After some great work on the left wing by Dougui, Hamid came around on the overlap to cross the ball along the six-yard box and it was put home by Ferrel Danso from close range.

But just before the break, the Blades were awarded a penalty of their own. It was duly converted by Ryan Viggars to put the visitors 3-2 ahead.

Into the second half, Matt Castillo picked up the ball in midfield and chipped it over the top for Armstrong who did very well to beat his marker before shooting straight at the ‘keeper.

As the R’s pushed for another equaliser, on as a sub, Micah Anthony cut inside from the left but fired over the bar. A few minutes later, he did the same however this time it was blocked.

Alex Aoroha, Cotter and Castillo combined well on the left to get past a couple of United defenders before Aoroha fired a cross-shot over the bar.

With five minutes to go, Armstrong was played through but brought down just outside the box, to which the referee only deemed it to be a yellow card offence. The resulting free-kick went just past the post.

The final game of Rangers’ season finished 3-2 to the visitors with all the goals coming in the first half.

QPR: Salamon, E. Anthony, Jude-Boyd (Sacapon 40), Hawkins, Aoroha, Hamid, Castillo, Cotter (Obeng 71), Dougui (M. Anthony 60), Armstrong, Danso.
