Report from Club website...QPR Under-18s were narrowly beaten by Hull City at a very sunny Heston on Saturday morning.

The R’s took the lead after an excellent solo run by Lorent Talla but, after equalising 10 minutes later, Hull got all three points from the penalty spot with 20 minutes to go.

Hull started fast and had the first chance of the game – straight from kick-off they chipped the ball out wide to the left wing and then pulled it back to Josh Hinds, but he sliced just wide.

Rangers’ first chance came from a fre- kick. It was whipped in and Hull ‘keeper Harry Fisk came out to punch it clear but didn’t get contact with the ball. Instead, it fell to Talla but his curling effort just went wide.

Half an hour in, Arkel Jude-Boyd picked up possession and drove through the middle of midfield before laying the ball to Sinclair Armstrong, whose left-footed shot was saved at the goalkeeper’s near post.

A minute later, Micah Anthony pounced on a misplaced pass and got a shot away from the edge of the box, but the ball went over the bar.

The R’s did take the lead in the 34th minute – an excellent solo goal by Talla who picked up the ball on the halfway line and went on a darting run down the left before cutting inside and rifling the ball into the top left corner.

Ten minutes later, the visitors were level. After calls for offside which wasn’t given, the ball fell to Hull striker Glen Sani who managed to squeeze the ball past Matteo Salamon.

Into the second half, Armstrong chased down a through ball which came over the top. He managed to get on the end of it before half-volleying straight at the Fisk.

Just over an hour in, Hull were awarded a penalty following a cross which Salamon tried to punch clear – but he accidentally clashed with a visiting forward in the air. The penalty was then converted by Hinds, sending Salamon the wrong way.

As the Super Hoops pushed for an equaliser late on, Micah Anthony cut inside from the right and unleashed a shot but it was straight at the ‘keeper.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the equaliser and the game finished 2-1 to the visitors.

QPR: Salamon, McClean, Jude-Boyd, Conte (Obeng 69), Harrack (Hayes 69), Hawkins, Talla (Murphy 61), Hamid, Armstrong, Castillo, Anthony.
