QPR U18s fell to a 3-1 defeat against Charlton Athletic on Saturday morning.
Rangers – who had started their season a week previous by holding Watford to a goalless draw – took the lead at the Addicks’ Sparrows Lane Training Ground on 26 minutes.

Having pounced upon a loose ball in Charlton back-line, the R’s worked the ball over to Chimaechi Eze, who slotted home from 10 yards out.

The Addicks levelled five minutes before half time when Dylan Gavin headed home and Tolu Ladapo then made it 2-1 to the home side with 72 minutes played.

Despite their best efforts, Rangers could not force an equaliser and, five minutes from time, Gavin’s second goal of the match put the game out of QPR’s sights.

Paul Furlong’s squad will be back in action on Saturday when they host Colchester United at Heston.

QPR U18s: Middlehurst, Paiva, Trialist, Hawkins, Trialist, Hayes (Obeng 80), Aoraha, Anthony, Babajide (Murphy 80), Sacopon (Dougui 70), Eze.
Subs (not used): Salamon.
