Seny Dieng was rested following international duties a few days earlier. And was pleased to see that Todd Kane was dropped after some of comments he made in THAT interview!

Coventry were poor, but much credit must go to the R’s for not allowing them to settle & obviously the very early goal in the 2nd minute certainly helped. And what a great move it was!

Charlie’s superb ball down on the left to Ilias, who then back-heeled it to Lee Wallace & his excellent cross was met by a well-placed Chris Willock.

Good tempo & movement, players were inter-changing passes & getting first to the ball.

Charlie Austin had two opportunities close to goal in less than a minute. Firstly, he’d overrun the ball & couldn’t pull the trigger, which was followed by a header.

Ilias’ corner made it difficult for Michael Rose at the near-post to deal with & the ball sailed into the back of the net.

The ref halted play because the windy conditions blew a ball onto the pitch and there was an earlier occasion which I assume was for the same reason?

Marko Marosi had kept the score down, but he should have done better when top-scorer Ilias Chair’s shot went through his gloves at the near-post.

Champagne moment, well two to choose from and both provided by Stefen Johansen! Twice in the 2nd half he put through amazing through-balls.

Firstly, to set up Ilias one-on-one and then later for substitute George Thomas.

Not overworked, but Joe Lumley was comfortable when he needed to be. So pleased for him.
