'SAM McCallum made his first appearance since late October, as QPR Under-23s ran out deserved winners against their Cardiff City counterparts in this Professional Development League Two South fixture.
McCallum featured for the entirety of the first half in the Welsh capital, coming through 45 minutes unscathed as he looks to step up his recovery from injury.
Andy Impey's side posed the greater attacking threat throughout, and took the lead in the 39th minute when Hamzad Kargbo powered home a Rafferty Pedder delivery.
The R's probably should have taken victory by a greater margin. Franklin Domi - McCallum's replacement at the break - struck the crossbar just past the hour mark.
Nevertheless, Rangers were good value for the win - rubber-stamped in the 78th minute when Joe Gubbins got the final touch on a scramble in the box.
Our Under-23s return to action next Monday when they are in Premier League Cup action at Blackburn Rovers.
