Chris Hewitt told me that the U18s lost 1-2 to Charlton, the league leaders,
at Heston today,

Another goal for Teddy Lawrence....

Chris's report from our Facebook group...

Fair result although Sam Sackey almost equalised in the time added on.
He had a close range angled shot nutmeg the keeper but somehow the No.6
got a touch while falling over backwards and the ball went a few inches
wide for a corner.

First half, playing into a very strong wind, we had about six shots on target but
the wind was so strong it slowed the shots down. Charlton took the lead on five
minutes and run the show for 20 minutes.

We then got back in the game and had many shots on target but
they were easy saves for the keeper.

One such shot by Talla was collected but a couple of seconds later the keeper
appeared to drop the ball and Teddy Lawrence’s quick thinking saw him force
the loose ball home. 1-1@ HT.

Second half, Charlton again started strongly with No9 having a ten-yard header
go just wide, the No 7 hit the bar then the No9 got the goal his performance
deserved. We were beaten by a very good side who adapted better to the
appalling weather conditions.

Five of the senior players were substituted second half with thoughts on the
FA Youth Cup game on Wednesday which is understandable.
