Chris'' report om our Facebook group..
Under 18 Professional Development League
QPR 5 Coventry City 3
QPR under 18s made it four games unbeaten as they went nap against Coventry City .
In that four game run they’ve scored two, four ,three and now five.
Most parents hadn’t even reached the pitch when captain William Whitehead found the net
after about 75 seconds.
For most of the first half the ball was up the far end as we peppered the Coventry goalmouth
with several shots. Gabriel Oluwabusola made it 2-0 on 21 minutes with a left foot shot and
within a minute almost made it 3-0 but his 15 yard lob went narrowly wide..
On 25 minutes new signing Declan De-Vulgt tried his luck from 20 yards and somehow the keeper
managed to tip the ball over the bar.
On 42 minutes Oluwabusola did make it 3-0 when he pressed the keeper and a defender who were
passing it to each other , he robbed the keeper of the ball and walked the ball into an empty from
just inside the box. HT 3-0.
Coventry pulled a goal back early in the second half when Cian Osborne made a save but the ball
ricocheted off the Coventry players knee and the ball ran agonisingly into the net.
But on the hour Whitehead made it 4-1 with a 20 yard screamer following a great passing move
involving Jerrel Tang , Kevin Wadman and finished by the captain for his second of the game.
On 66 minutes the score was almost 5-1 when Wadman took aim from 30 yards. His shot hit the bar,
came back out to Kemuel Edouard-Marrison but his follow up shot went into the side netting.
On 63 minutes QPR introduced a substitute goalkeeper Harry Rouse for his debut. His first involvement
was within 5 minutes when he made an excellent finger tip save from a fierce acute angle shot.
Coventry then scored on 72 then 78 minutes which wasn’t a true reflection on the game.
But on 85 minutes Wadham ran through onto a an excellent pass from Whitehead, he then ran from
the centre circle and buried his shot into the bottom left corner to finally win the game. In the dying
seconds sub keeper Rouse made another decent save.
Great performances all over the pitch and another well deserved win.
