Well done with these Askew Rd articles. I can relate to the general script. I lived at number 46 from
1952 up to 1960

Goodness I remember buying my sweets in the early 50's from Allens. It was between the butchers and
the pie and mash shop. I remember it being sold too and taken over with new owners.
