Team tinkering

Post by ESSEXURs »

Foreign managers seem to love tinkering or should I say rotating.

When you think of our great teams of the past who turned out week after week with barely
any changes and only one substitute playing on ploughed field pitches you have to wonder
about our pampered poodles. I can’t remember the Warnock team having many changes in
that great season.

Going back to the fifties we played two games in two days at Christmas and travelled to
games by horse and cart. :D

The players are paid so much more now to be either resting or recovering from minor injuries
with monotonous regularity.

Just play our strongest team and stop short changing the supporters.

Well said Essex.

I am in 100% agreement. Was fully expecting at least a draw yesterday, more points thrown away.

Good Comment Essex.

Also nearly all of the time when we lose a game its not just a defeat but always an awful performance
as well. It does not matter if its a top team like Coventry or Boro or bottom and out of form teams
like Norwich and West Brom. Same old story.

Sometimes you can accept a loss if the encounter is close or the team is just unlucky but the majority
of these defeats we are never in the game do not compete and completely outplayed. Why?

There should be a sign put up in the managers office....If it aint broke don't fix it :!:

This manager makes Claudio Ranieri look like a novice when it comes to tinkering, I just
find his team selections, substitutions and his post match comments baffling to say the least.

Given the amount of goals we have shipped this season, particularly from set pieces I am
questioning his coaching ability.

You never know what to expect when the team lineup is announced before the game, always
expecting changes but the thought of how many springs to mind.

We don’t really have a first choice keeper, as neither Nardi, Walsh and Hamer would be described
as first choice.

We continue to play central defenders at right full back, we are a club who have had players like Hazell,
Clement, Shanks, Bardsley and for a short period Kyle Walker playing as right back, the likes of Dunne
and Mbengue who are central defenders and Kieran Morgan who is a midfield player are just not natural
fullbacks and it shows in games.

The Portsmouth performance on Boxing Day was absolutely woeful, slow at the back, devoid of any ideas
in midfield and toothless up front. To make matters worse I thought Portsmouth were every bit as bad as
us on the day.

I must be honest and admit I am not the manager’s number one fan.
