Andy Evans is leaving...

Post by Steve Russell »

Very sorry to hear the news that Andy is to retire from his role as CEO of the Trust.
What an amazing job he has done in those 35 years.

Good luck for the future Andy.

From the Club...
'ANDY Evans has confirmed to the club his plans to retire from his role as CEO of
QPR in the Community Trust at the end of the calendar year.

A lifelong fan of the R’s, Evans joined the club in 1990. During an incredible 35-year stint,
he has overseen the growth of the community programme, from one that employed four members
of staff to what exists today, with more than 30 full-time employees.

The Trust became a charity in 2008 and now reaches more than 30,000 participants every year.

During his tenure, Evans spear-headed a range of transformative initiatives, including disability
inclusion schemes and projects addressing modern societal challenges.

He also played a crucial role in the club’s response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy and he continues
to work with those affected to this day.

Evans said: “I have had an incredible journey with the club. From attending my first match as a
four-year-old, my love of QPR has grown and grown.

“It has been my privilege and honour to work for the club for an incredible 35 years.

“This decision certainly hasn’t been an easy one but it is something that has been on my mind
as I think about the next chapter of my life.

“There are so many things I will miss – the staff, the camaraderie, the projects, the participants
and seeing first-hand the impact the Trust can have on so many lives.

“The ownership are an incredible group of people. From the moment they arrived, Amit (Bhatia)
and Ruben (Gnanalingam) have always made it very clear how much importance they place on the
Trust and its role.

“Amit was previously chairman of the Trust, Ruben is chair of the Trust today, and Richard Reilly
has always been so positive and encouraging about the work we do.

“Lee Hoos was always a fantastic support for me and that has continued with Christian (Nourry),
for which I will always be grateful.

“Finally, I want to thank Andy Sinton, the club ambassador, for his unwavering support during my
time at the club and thank all the Trust staff who are the ones out delivering in the community every
day, supporting people of all ages to feel connected to the football club and their neighbourhood.

“I have no doubt the Trust will continue to thrive and continue to impact tens of thousands of lives
every year.

“As I take a step back, I do so with immense pride.”

QPR Chairman Hoos will oversee the Trust on an interim basis.
Evans added: “I am delighted Lee has agreed to take on the position, enabling me to take this next
step in my life at this time.

“I have known Lee for ten years which means I know the Trust is in good hands. He is incredibly passionate
about the work that is carried out and I have no doubt whatsoever that he will be able to progress the
department.

“Finally, I would like to thank the so many supporters who it has been a pleasure to get to know over
the last three-and-a-half decades.

“I look forward to seeing you around Loftus Road.”

Hoos said: “Andy has been a fantastic custodian of the Trust and has seen it grow year on year. The positive
effect he has had on the community cannot be under-stated.

“As a football club, we are grateful to him for his tireless work and dedicated service.

“We wish him well with his retirement where he can enjoy some well-earned downtime with loved ones.”

Everyone at the club thanks Andy for his contributions and dedicated service to QPR, the Trust and the local
community. We wish him all the best with his next endeavour.

The club will be producing a feature in the new year on the impact Andy has had on the community.'
