Southampton match

I thought we at long last had a good manager but unfortunately he is obsessed with
squad rotation.
He fails to understand that you can’t get away with it in this division. You need a target man
and your strongest team every game and stick with it.
There is very little understanding and team play with this rotation.
We are losing games due to team selection every match.
Chair is a luxury we can’t afford he is too slow and wastes so many free kicks. Whenever he
returns from injury we seem to go backwards!
Also we desperately need a goalkeeper who doesn’t look a bundle of nerves and commands
his area.
It’s no wonder most teams at the top have British managers!

Good comment Essex.
We are in a slump and our managers excessive rotation strategy is not helping matters

Have to agree
We need stability on which to build slick understandings across the pitch that translates
into effective competitive play.
We need to create more chances and to increase our conversion rate if we are to counteract
the goals conceded.
The off target shot ratio is too high. The wasted shots that should have been worked in further
are too damaging.
Surely, Kone has got to be starting.

You have to wonder if the Manager is under orders to shop window all our squad irrespective
of the obvious problems of doing so.
The team each game reminds me of our “traditional” cup teams that are trotted out that look
like they have never ever featured in the same team.
If he is not under orders he should be taken to one side and have it explained that you don’t build
a team by chopping and changing the start team.
Start with your strongest side and if you have a comfortable lead then put on subs but in moderation.

The manager is one deluded individual, his team selections are baffling to say the least.
His comment last night that was our best display this season was laughable, for the first 70 minutes
against a very poor team we were just as poor and only raised our game after going 2-0 down.
That midfield of Madsen, Varane and Chair just didn’t work, the one thing that stuck out for me was
their lack of work rate.
These guys play their own games and are not team players, I found Ilias Chair’s performance very
frustrating and nothing ever changes with him. Why every manager employed by QPR continues to
allow Chair to take corners and free kicks beggars belief, nothing ever comes from any of his deliveries
and this has been happening for many seasons now. The time has come for Chair to be left out and
moved on in January.
Our keeper Nardi is so low on confidence and playing behind, a seriously out of form Dunne, a hapless
and erratic Mbengue and whoever else the manager selects will not help him. In a nutshell Nardi does
not inspire confidence into his back line, unfortunately the only cover we have for Nardi is a 37 year
old recently recruited on a free transfer.
I thought the body language of some of the players wasn’t good last night, Smyth losing it as he ran
down the tunnel after being substituted didn’t look good.
Julien Stephan is out of his depth managing QPR and the pressure will begin to ramp up on him now.

All this squad rotation & why did it take 70-odd mins before we upped our
game & posed a bigger threat?
It was like a training session at times tapping the ball around needlessly
I remember a free kick in their half eventually going back to Paul Nardi.
Dave Mc for West London Sport.......worrying
Julien Stephan insisted QPR’s performance against Southampton was their best display
of the season.
Rangers were beaten 2-1 at Loftus Road – their third consecutive defeat – but the head coach
felt they deserved at least a point.
“I think it was probably our best performance since the start of the season,” Stephan said.
“We had a lot of chances to score. The performance is one thing, the result is another thing.
“I have to have a bigger-picture view and need to think about the performance because, for me,
if we continue to play like this it is impossible we will not have good wins and many points in the
future.”
Jay Robinson’s deflected strike put Southampton ahead early in the second half and Leo Scienza’s
brilliant goal doubled their lead.
Rumarn Burrell pulled a goal back but Rangers were unable to find an equaliser.
“I feel sorry for the players and also the fans. I think they deserved another thing today, with the
quality of the performance,” said Stephan.
“I think the fans saw that we gave everything and the players tried from the first minute until the
last one to create and to play good football.
“But at the end we have to be clinical and that was not the case today. They scored two goals with
only two shots on target and we probably shot 20 times.
“Big disappointment with the result, but as a manager I have to stay focused on the performance.”

So…is our manager
a. Wearing Elton John style rose tinted glasses
b. Indulging in substances he shouldn’t be
c. A complete fruit loop
I lost count of the number of times I was screaming at the tv “don’t pass back” and true to
form no matter where they were it was played back!
Apart from upsetting the fans it is a complete waste of game time and achieves sod all!
Just cut it out and stop faffing at the back before Nardi gets a heart attack.

It's one thing for our manager to be up beat but another to leave the orbit of reality.
Best display of the season? You are having a giraffe!

Essex I think he’s A,B & C.
Got the impression at his press conference today, that he was somewhat backtracking
on his comments.
As I said earlier he’s a deluded individual, I think he will be following Will Still on the Eurostar
back to France sooner rather than later.
Dreading to see what lineup we will be starting with tomorrow.

I just hope he is more critical of the players in private as giving praise for any defeat is not acceptable.
The trouble is he has no experience of one of the most demanding leagues in the world and I just hope he learns fast and we take the appropriate action should he fail before it is too late.
Cutting out faffing at the back would be a good start we just do not have the goalkeeper and defenders to do it.
Also cut out this endless passing of the ball backwards and across the back line as it achieves not a jot other than wasting time. The opposition can just settle back and admire our stupidity!
Our priority in January needs to be a goalkeeper who commands his area.
