Re: Development Squad at Charlton's Training Ground Today....
From the Club....
QPR Dev Squad would battle out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Charlton Athletic U21s
at Sparrows Lane on Friday afternoon.
Despite being pegged back early on, strikes from Cian Dillon and Daniel Bennie would ensure
Rangers would return to W12 with a share of the spoils.
In a game which featured Kieran Morgan, Kealey Adamason, Tylon Smith and Bennie, it would
be the Addicks who started strong with Rangers having Joel Halliday to thank with some strong
saves in the opening exchanges – denying Lock and Sol-Loza early on.
A first chance for the R’s would arrive on the 26th minute, with Kalen Brunson down the right
finding Morgan who cleverly found Isak Alemayehu whose effort was comfortable for the Addicks
keeper.
Charlton would eventually break the deadlock on the 28th minute, a good passing move with
Reuben Reid bursting through eventually falling to Kai Enslin who slotted home.
Rangers looked for a response but in truth it was the Reds who looked likely to further extend
their lead, Reid again threatening.
The Super Hoops started the second half on the front foot, with the introduction of Dillon looking
to add an attacking emphasis to the R’s frontline, Bennie would quickly go close.
And on the 55th minute Dillon would draw Rangers level, latching onto a long through ball from the
R’s keeper Halliday before smashing home, 1-1.
The R’s would take the lead on the 67th minute Bennie makes it 2-1, our Trialist finding him out wide,
before firing on the inside of the post.
Rangers would be unlucky to not further extend their lead following some work by Philip Sanyaolu
with the ball falling to the troublesome Dillon who this time was denied by the Charlton keeper.
However, Charlton make things level a few moments later, Keenan Gough doing well before finding
Henry Rylah who converted from close-range.
Both sides would push for the elusive winner, Bennie unlucky not to poke the ball home from a
scramble in the hosts box, with Charlton also threatening, late on, but it would remain level in
South London.
QPR XI: Halliday, Adamson, Smith, Trialist, Gbemre-McLean, Alemayehu, Aoraha, Morgan, Brunson,
Trialist, Bennie.
Subs: Taylor, Sanyaolu, Boddy, Neziri, Dillon.

Re: Development Squad at Charlton's Training Ground Today....
Chris's report on our Facebook group...
'Game of two halves. Very windy conditions saw Charlton dominate with the wind behind them.
With the ball being hard to control in the conditions, Charlton pressed high and caused us problems.
Joel Halliday made a great double save on 11. Ins but was beaten by the left back on 26 minutes
by a shot into bottom corner. HT 1-0 and could’ve been more with Halliday making 4 decent saves.
Start of second half we made two substitutions and with the wind behind us we were the better side
from the kick off.
On 46 minutes Bennie had a 20 yarder tipped over. On 55 minutes Joel Halliday came out of his box
to clear a ball over the defence. His clearance saw a Cian Dillon run clear behind the defence and
bury his 20 yard shot into the bottom corner.
On 62 minutes, some excellent interplay between Aoraha and Morgan saw the ball fall to Kealey Adamson
35 yards out and his rising shot was somehow tipped over the bar by the keeper.
The ball was up the other end within seconds and Halliday was grateful to save a near post shot onto
the post and out for a corner.
After 68 minutes a good run by Philip Sanyaolu saw him feed Bennie on the right corner of the penalty
area, a similar position to Dillon’s goal, and he put the ball into the same bottom corner as the first goal.
Four minutes later Sanyaolu took aim from 15 yards and the keeper made another decent save.
Charlton counter attacked almost immediately and the ball was smashed home from an acute angle.
For the remaining 15 minutes the game was end to end but both defences stood firm .
FT 2-2. A fair result in the end..
