Good news from the Club.....
'LIAM Morrison has signed a new contract, extending his stay in west London.
The 22-year-old centre-back joined QPR from Bayern Munich last summer. His assured displays
at the heart of the R’s defence have established him as a real favourite amongst the fans – and
Morrison is certainly enjoying life as a Ranger.
“I've absolutely loved my time so far,” he said.
“It's been brilliant from the first minute I came through the door. I just can't thank everyone enough;
the fans, staff, everyone in the building - they have all made me feel really welcome, so it's time to
repay everyone and push on.”
While his performances have made him a regular in the side, Morrison insists there is more to come.
“I know I can do a lot better than what I've done,” he said. “I'm just focused on progressing and getting
this team as far up the table as possible.”
Morrison made 21 appearances in all competitions last season. So far this term he has been an ever-present
in the league, and it is a division he is quickly learning all about.
“Last season was my first full season in the Championship so I was getting used to it,” he explained.
“Now I need to kick on and prove to everyone what I can do.
“There's a lot of games in the Championship and every single one is different, but they are all tough,
it's never easy.”
Rangers got their first win of the campaign in Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Charlton Athletic, and Morrison
believes the squad that has been built in W12 is one that can develop and grow.
“I think it's a very exciting team,” he said.
“There's a lot of good players and we've gelled quite quickly. Now we need to improve on last year and
give the fans a better season.
“Personally, I want to play as many games in the Championship as possible this season - and I need to
start scoring some more goals as well!
“Ultimately, I want to get QPR to the Premier League one day. We just need to keep building and building,”
CEO Christian Nourry said: “Liam joined us last summer off the back of a single League One campaign and
calmly made the transition to Championship football with some standout performances in 2024/25.
“He demands a lot from himself, has an elite mentality and we are excited to continue to grow together.”
