Report from the Club...

'QPR FC Women continued their pre-season preparations with a spirited 1-1 draw against
Loughborough Lightning on Sunday afternoon, producing another encouraging display as the squad
build towards the new campaign.

After Rangers goalkeeper Kenny Clarke was called into action early on to make a sharp save, Danny Harrigan's
R's settled into their rhythm and began to pose problems of their own.

Grace Stanley went close with a lofted effort that narrowly cleared the bar in the ninth minute.

Then, just moments later, the breakthrough arrived and it came in fine fashion. Trialist A lit up the game with
a dazzling solo run down the left flank before calmly slotting home to give the R’s a well-earned lead in the
12th minute.

Rangers nearly doubled their advantage shortly after, with Trialist A once again involved. Her curling strike whistled
just wide as QPR continued to apply pressure.

As the first half progressed, the R’s remained on the front foot. Winger Annie Dzyadyk tested the 'keeper with a
well-struck effort in the 38th minute.

QPR took their slender lead into the break, and as the second half unfolded, Harrigan used the opportunity to rotate
his side with a series of substitutions aimed at maintaining intensity and assessing squad depth.

The R’s remained positive in possession, and a well-taken Lilly Wellesley Davies free-kick on the hour mark asked
further questions of the oppositing goalkeeper.

Trialist B then came close to adding a second with a powerful strike in the 70th minute, forcing the goalkeeper into
another strong save as QPR looked to put the game beyond doubt.

However, the hosts found an equaliser in the closing moments. A quick counter attack saw them break through and
level the scores in the 89th minute.

Despite the late goal, it was another productive outing for Harrigan’s side, who showed attacking quality and defensive
resilience throughout the contest.

Next up, the R’s finalise their pre-season campaign as they travel to face AFC Wimbledon at Tooting & Mitcham United FC
on Sunday 10th August, kick-off 2pm.

QPR: Clarke, Lewin (Sampson 65), Gotch (Wellesley-Davies 65), Brooks, Searle, Hill (Owen 65), Ali (Blodgett 55),
Mehmet (D’Santos 55), Trialist A (Trialist B 50) (Munro 75), Stanley (Leach 55), Dzyadyk (Makowska 60)'
