'QPR keeper Cooper lined up for Barnsley loan move
Barnsley are looking to sign goalkeeper Murphy Cooper on loan from QPR.
The 23-year-old, previously known as Murphy Mahoney, is in line for a new contract at Rangers and
another loan move.
He spent last season on loan at Stevenage, who wanted him to return to them, and there has also been
interest from Bolton.
But Cooper, who has made two first-team appearances for QPR and also been on loan at Swindon, looks
set to join the Tykes.'

And a new deal....
GOALKEEPER Murphy Cooper has signed a contract extension with QPR.
Cooper's new deal comes following a hugely productive loan spell at Stevenage in League One last season,
where the 23-year-old kept 16 clean sheets in 40 appearances.
Murphy's time with Stevenage followed another successful loan at Swindon Town in 2023/24.
"I'm really, really, really pleased," said Cooper, who has been with the R's since the age of 10.
"I've been at QPR a long time and I want to continue to be here, so I was delighted when the club offered
me a new contract - I was itching to sign it.
"I love it here."
Speaking about his impressive campaign at Stevenage, Cooper added: "I want to do as well as I can to come
back and play here.
"I really enjoyed my time at Stevenage and it was probably the best season I've had so far - the highest level
I've played at, too.
"I played 40 games, kept quite a few clean sheets and put in some good performances, so it was brilliant for me.
It was a great squad, good management and I really fitted in well and enjoyed my time there. I'm really happy with
how my season went."
While Murphy has his eyes firmly set on becoming QPR's number one goalkeeper, he admits he is not averse to enjoying
another spell out on loan in 2025/26.
He said: "It's just about bridging the gap to eventually be the number one here. I just need to keep going, keep playing
and keep improving.”
QPR CEO Christian Nourry commented: "We were super impressed by Murphy's progression at Stevenage, where he further
developed his shot-stopping and defensive capacity from set-pieces.
"We believe in his long-term potential - he deserves this new contract."
