I thought Marti Cifuentes team selection today was wrong, we had players on that pitch today who looked
really out of their depth playing in the Championship.
The first gripe I had was the inclusion of Jimmy Dunne again at right back, Cifuentes got lucky towards the end
of last season by playing Dunne in that position. He is clearly not a full back and today showed that, he struggled
the whole game and their wide players had a field day on both flanks. Dunne is a very honest and committed player
without doubt, but he is a central defender and has been his whole career.
Kenneth Paal we are led to believe is on the verge of leaving the club, his performance today mirrored that of a
player who wants to play elsewhere. Why the club have not addressed the full back positions is really strange, as
we need full backs who are natural fullbacks and have the ability to play in that position.
Paul Smyth is another honest player who plays with his heart on his sleeve, but he is not Championship standard
and should not be starting games at this level. I think the club should be looking at loaning him out for the season,
he has had enough opportunities at QPR unfortunately for him he hasn’t delivered enough good performances.
On today’s performance Cook and Clarke-Salter were all over the place, Field and Colback went missing in midfield
and with nothing up front it was a very poor performance.
Marti Cifuentes has some big decisions to make in the coming weeks, Varane must start and if the club can get the
Karamoko Dembele deal over the line then he has to start too.

Re: Marti Cifuentes got it hopelessly wrong today
Watched the match on Sky and a much improved coverage now from the old Red Button.
Must agree we might as well have put the tea ladies at fullback as both fullbacks were non existent as
cross after cross was allowed to get into our area from positions our central defenders found it difficult to counter.
This obsession with midfielders instead of addressing the fullback and goal scoring situation is costing us.
Frey looks agricultural and Celar looks lost. Surely we can find a proven goal scorer from the lower divisions or an
experienced striker languishing in a reserve team. Just ten goals from such a player would make all the difference
and at least occupy defenders giving midfielders a chance to find space.
I had forgotten Field was playing he was so anonymous and Colback is similarly a ‘negative midfielder’.
Where are the surging runs from midfield and probing forward balls?
It’s no wonder most post match reports comment on the lack of service to the attackers we just do not have the
players who consistently provide such balls. Charlie Austin at least dropped deeper sometimes to get the ball and
could run forward when he did. Our pretend centre forwards expect it played to them on a plate without having to do the
hard work.
Get it sorted as this will be a long season again.

Re: Marti Cifuentes got it hopelessly wrong today
A Japanese group were spotted on the side of the pitch taking photos pre-match,
They then took up position in the director's box.
A superb goal put us ahead but West Brom continued to stroke the ball around with
ease. Crosses galore & all their goals came from close range.
The third arrived after Paul Smyth had been winning a succession of corners at
the Loft End.
Paul Nardi made an outstanding save in the 2nd half...
After Rayan Kolli had departed with cramp, Alfie Lloyd took up his position wide-left
whereas he should have been our 2nd striker with Lyndon Dykes.
He had been passed fit & should have been brought on ahead of Michael Frey.
Astonishment from the fans at the sight of his air-shot from around the 6-yard box!!!
Zan Cellar isolated upfront again, obviously this needs to be seriously addressed as do other
matters around the pitch.
Jonathan Varane looked good when he came on.
What is the current situation with Ilias Chair?

Re: Marti Cifuentes got it hopelessly wrong today
There was an interview with Marti about Chair saying medical team not rushing him back. Alternative version
is he is doing litter picking somewhere!
On the Japanese story we are looking at Japanese player who looks a good prospect.

From X
Japan-23 representative, number 10, electric winger koki saito, who will be transferred to QPR.
his unconventional dribbling skills that he proved at the Paris Olympics are very fun.

Re: Marti Cifuentes got it hopelessly wrong today
Karamoko Dembélé will be a good signing for us if the club can complete the deal, he is an extremely
talented player and at 21 years of age he has plenty of potential. He is a wide player with pace and an eye
for goal, he spent last season on loan to Blackpool and scored 8 goals. I can’t remember the last time a winger
at QPR scored 8 goals in a season.

Re: Marti Cifuentes got it hopelessly wrong today
After a bright start we simply collapsed. You cannot afford slack play against better championship sides and
expect to get away with it. We were duly punished.
Also on this evidence there is still a question mark over our ability to score goals.
Obviously early days but Sheffield Utd away looks to me like nil points and possibly nil goals
