Fulham

Post by ESSEXURs »

Hopefully Warburton will spend the next few days explaining that derby games especially against Fulham and Chelscum mean much to the fans who expect nothing short of a convincing win.
Sadly I woke up to the reality of the situation!

I know Fulham are on a downward spiral having drawn and lost recently :D but even the most optimistic supporter can only see this going one way and it will not be Fulham spiralling down I’m afraid.
In some respects this Rs team can’t win (a situation we are all to familiar with) as if by some miracle Fulham have a rare off day and we do get a result us fans will be thinking what has the period since January been all about then?!

We need to play players who at least care about the club so no Sanderson and Hendrick please their performances have been woeful at best. Play two up (we are at home you know Warburton) cut out the faffing at the back as they will press us and the inevitable will happen with monotonous regularity and please no more stupid substitutions which gives the game to the opposition. Warburton please repeat after me “Substitutions should should at least keep the team performance as it was and hopefully improve a performance”.
Realistically it will still be a repeat of the away fixture but one can dream.

I'm more optimistic than that, Colin - or maybe I should say, less pessimistic?
Going back to my point about us always doing badly against the underdogs,
the opposite is also true; we do better against the higher-placed teams.
The stats have proved this over the years - many years;in fact, I first read
this in an article in AKUTRs over 20 years ago.
I'm always more optimistic about playing teams like Foolham than I am about
teams like Peterborough.

The early season team and form would have a chance but Warburton has fiddled with the team and the mountain is steeper now but I agree stranger things have happened. First goal will be critical.

As long as WE don't score it!!
Apart from the Luton game, we've opened the scoring in 3 out of the last 4 games -
then lost them all! A problem Reading have had all season, and not one we want to emulate.
It's as if we sit back at 1-0, thinking "job done."

Please allow me to make an extreme sweeping statement....As long as we all have holes in our backsides we wont beat Fulham!

There you go if that does not tempt the fates nothing will!! ;)

Dykes is also still out of action - isn't joining the Scotland squad for their games. :(

( ****, another 408 Request Time-out, 1st time of posting  )

( AND AGAIN - 3rd time lucky??? Ironically though, when I posted a reply on my 408 etc thread, it worked 1st time!!)
