From the Club...
'EVERYONE at the club has been deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Tom Hyett
at the age of 88.
Tom was a steward and friendly face at Loftus Road for more than 58 years, including this season,
and was the club's longest-serving staff member.
He was honoured in 2020 when he won the Unsung Hero award.
A familiar face to so many R’s fans who affectionately knew him as ‘Tom the Loft steward', his first job
was to stop children climbing the old floodlights at the Loft End!
More recently, he was the disabled section steward in the Bhatia Stand. He also served the residents of
the Edward Woods Estate in North Kensington and Queen Caroline Estate in Hammersmith as an employee
of Hammersmith & Fulham Council for more than 30 years.
May he rest in Peace.'
