Our Final Home Game is now on a Friday Night!

Post by Steve Russell »

''QPR’s final home fixture of the season, against Leeds United, will be shown live on
Sky Sports.

As a result, the game will now take place on Friday 26th April 2024 - kicking off at 8pm.

The fixture was originally scheduled for Saturday 27th April, kick-off 3pm.

Ticket information will be released in due course.'

Messed up my Saturday flight over. £49 EasyJet fee each way to change flights.

No reason why fixtures not affected by cup runs cannot be set in stone at start of the season.
Not a customer-centred culture by any stretch.

Not sure how effective switching for Sky coverage is anymore with all games accessible by Firestick
these days.

That 8pm kick-off is a nuisance for me.
Not to mention the Leeds fans.
But the game has sold it's soul, and now the devil (i.e., Sky) wants its pound of flesh.

Yes Steveqpr881. The game has sold its soul to the Devil. TV and the police run football fixtures. What they say goes.

The Football authorities have virtually no say in matters....and Clubs and supporters zilch!! :(

What's more, it may well cost the Club money.
I went to a Fans' Forum 2 or 3 years ago & the question of games being moved was raised;
Lee Hoos said the Club has no say whatsoever, Sky has the contractual right to choose to televise a certain
number of games per Club
in any one season. OK, the Club is paid (I think a figure of £30-35k was mentioned), but with many fans
choosing to stay home & watch it on TV,
there's a drop in the gate (+programmes, food & drink etc) which isn't covered.
Obviously that doesn't apply if the game's a sell-out, but there's still the inconvenience factor.
