Friday 22nd March, 12 noon at St. Patrick's RC church, Manchester.

I'll be going - obviously not inside, but just want to pay my last respects.
Have booked my train ticket, so if anybody else will be there & maybe fancies a drink after,
just get in touch.

Steve. I will be going. Its local for me.

I am not sure if we will be allowed "inside" on "spec" at both locations The Church and the Chapel crematorium.
There will obviously be a great multitude at the event . Never the less I will be there even if I have to stand
outside.

I will be in touch again later. Meanwhile your further views and thoughts?

Bernard, I knew you'd be going.
I've also heard from Dave 'KUTRs' Thomas,of course he lives up there, & he'll be going.
Same as you, I don't expect to get in, but will be happy just to stand outside.
I'll pm you my tel. no., if we don't bump in to each other, we could always arrange to meet, if you fancy a drink.

OK Steve noted. The Church is within walking distance of both the main Railway stations in
Manchester Piccadilly and Victoria but the crematorium chapel at Blackley is a bit further out.

Bernard, I google-mapped* it, and the I'd say the church is about a 20-min walk from
Manchester Piccadilly station - is that right?

* - To google-map; a new verb for the dictionary.

Yes Steve that's about right. From the other main Station at Victoria slightly less say 15 min walk.

The Chapel Crematorium at Blackley is further out in a northerly direction. Not a great distance away but
you will need to catch a bus.

Bernard - and anyone else on here who's going -
my train arrives in Manchester Piccadilly at 10.19 tomorrow,
so that gives almost 2 hours before the funeral.
I'll call or text you when I get in, & if you want to get in touch,
phone only please.

Steve. I hope to be there by 11.00 am. I think Martin Beattie is going and one or two other Manchester R's.

I understand the Chapel Crematorium at Blackley holds 300 persons maximum but probably still too many
there to be able to get inside. No chance at the Church I reckon
