Andy Morley has shared some of his photos on
our Facebook page....

I see that amongst those in attendance were; Gerry Francis, Andy Sinton,
Phil Parkes, Dave Webb, Tony Currie & Chris Kamara etc..

Luckily, Kerrins was wrong; not only was there room in the church for us, but for dozens of Rs fans;
it was a sea of blue & white shirts & scarves.

Apart from Bernard & I, other QPR fans spotted were Dave 'KUTRs' Thomas, Joe Hilton, the legendary Tommy Collins.
ex-players included Gerry Francis - the mullet now snowy white; Phil Parkes; Dave Webb; Andy Sinton & someone we
reckoned was Don Givens.Plus Chis Kamara. Must admit, if I saw Tony Currie, I didn't recognise him.

I was outside when the hearse arrived; apart from the usual floral tributes ( Dad & Grandad), there was a nice
light blue & white bouquet from Man. City plus 2 from us - 'QPR' picked out in white flowers and a blue & white shirt with
the no. 10 in red; a very nice touch, that.

The Priest said, in his address, that Stanley had his happiest days at QPR and that was reciprocated in the fans' turn-out and
in the Order of Service booklet - this was full of pictures of Stan in the hoops, plus a nice picture of the stand named after him.
It's clear that QPR meant a lot to Stan (as he meant to us) & this has certainly been picked up by his family.

The service itself wasn't too bad (I say that as someone who's not religious) - when I told a friend I was going to a
Catholic Requiem Mass, he said "Take a hip flask, they drag on" - but it only lasted an hour, so in terms of length,
just about right.

Mind you, I reckon the real action came at the crematorium - seems there was an address by Don Shanks - but I wrongly
assumed that that would just be a formality, and skipped it. Still, I wasn't there for my own entertainment but to say #
thanks & goodbye to Stanley.
And he was certainly given a good send-off.

R.I.P. Stanley.

And I'll be sending a copy of the order of service booklet to you, Steve R,
so that you can post it on here - would have done it yesterday, but forgot
