3-1 Win for the U18's on Saturday....

From the Club....

QPR Under-18s put in a dominant display as they wrapped up all three points against
Colchester United Under-18s on Saturday morning.

Goals from Youssef Yahyaoui, Jake Coomes and substitute Rico Kennedy ensured a 3-1 victory for
the young R's at the TSG Training Centre in the U18s Professional Development League.

It took just 12 minutes for Yahyaoui to open the scoring, as he latched onto a loose ball before manoeuvring
it onto his left foot, wrong-footing his man in the process, before drilling it low and hard into the bottom
right corner to break the deadlock.

With 23 minutes on the clock, Coomes would double Rangers’ lead - the winger had looked lively in the early
stages of the fixture and he proved this by converting a rebound off the crossbar from Fraser Neill’s effort.

However, the two-goal lead was short-lived, as U’s attacker Alex Kokoshi dispatched a free-kick into the bottom
left corner soon after.

The home side had a chance to make it three on the stroke of half-time, but our trialist for the afternoon
screwed his chance just wide. He was the first to react to a loose ball in the box after Neill had his long-range
effort blocked.

Neither side seemed to find a rhythm during the second period, but the best chance seemed to fall to the visitors
when Kai Martin skimmed a tap-in wide from the edge of the six-yard box in the 62nd minute.

But, just four minutes from time, Kennedy would seal victory in a move which involved all three substitutes.
Tyler Young looped a deep cross to the back post, which was headed across goal by Ridwan Hassan for Kennedy
to nod home.

Our young R’s are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Millwall as they face the Lions U18’s at the
Millwall Training Ground, kick-off 11 am.

QPR XI: Jones (Loades 45’) Putman, Kemoko, Radojevic, Street, Sutton, Neill, Trialist (Hassan 60’), Coomes (Young 60’),
Bouhiaoui (Kennedy 45’), Yahyaoui (Strachan 60”.
