I had travelled up on the coach with some hope but that soon evaporated
after Paul Smyth's two early strikes at goal. The first & only one on target was
well saved & the other hit the side-netting.
It was obvious that playing Sinclair Armstrong upfront on his own wasn't
working & when it might have been, he was taken off
He was getting fouled on & off the ball (no bookings for any Stoke players!) & it was all very predictable.
As were our corners
Asmir Begovic did make 2 good saves in the 1st half but we got
done again from a set-piece & as for his distribution, on one occasion he gave the
ball directly to a Stoke player just outside the box!!
The sense of urgency finally arrived in the last 15 mins or so, which included the 8 added..
