Christian Nourry Appointed as the New CEO...

Post by Steve Russell »

News from the Club...

'QPR are delighted to announce the appointment of Christian Nourry as its new
Chief Executive Officer, replacing Lee Hoos who retired from the role earlier today (Friday)
while continuing in his position as Chairman.

After more than eight years with the club, Hoos said: “It has been an honour and privilege to be
QPR CEO. There are always highs and lows but I am hugely grateful to the owners, staff and fans
for their support.

“I would like to wish Christian the very best of luck in the position. He is extremely competent and #
bridges a number of gaps that need to be bridged.”

Nourry has spent the past half-decade as an advisor and consultant to some of the most significant
ownership groups and football clubs worldwide, most recently in his capacity as Managing Partner
for Europe of market-leading football data analytics and advisory business, RETEXO.

RETEXO’s clients include Real Madrid CF, AS Roma, Anderlecht RSC, Athletic Bilbao, A-Leagues
and many others.

In his role at RETEXO, Nourry was notably responsible for the development of best-in-class
practices to be implemented across all major departments at football clubs across the continent.

Nourry previously served as co-founder of the Get Football Group, a sports media organisation #
specialising in the provision of news and analysis of European football in English to millions of fans
worldwide as well as other international media companies.

In the summer, Nourry led on RETEXO’s detailed audit of QPR, which was commissioned by the club’s
owners. As part of this project, RETEXO were instrumental in the club’s identification and recruitment
of Director of Performance Ben Williams and Head Coach Martí Cifuentes.

Nourry said: “I am looking forward to working for QPR and to lead the club as it enters a new chapter,
one which the fans deserve.

“I want to take this opportunity to first and foremost congratulate Lee on his retirement after a rich
career as a football executive.

“I am happy to be continuing the work which I have already been undertaking with the owners following
their deep period of reflection since the end of last season. I am truly excited by the next-generation
football project that we are building together.”

The club’s owners Ruben Gnanalingam, Amit Bhatia and Richard Reilly were unanimous in their decision
to bring Nourry on board.

Gnanalingam said: “Firstly, we would like to thank Lee for his hard work and endeavours during his time
as our CEO. We are enormously grateful to him and pleased he will have a continued presence at the
club in his role as Chairman.

“We are also delighted to bring Christian in and excited by the impact he can have.

“He has a proven track record of achieving success for football clubs he has worked with around the
world and his expertise has already enabled us to identify and recruit two outstanding professionals.

“We believe in Christian’s long-term vision and look forward to an exciting future under his guidance.”

Bhatia said: “This is a truly fantastic appointment. We are fully aware of the challenges that face us
and remain absolutely committed to bringing success to a football club we all deeply love.

“Christian has demonstrated the positive effect he can have through his previous work at some of the
biggest football clubs in the world.

“He is forward-thinking, he has an innovative mindset and we are delighted to have him on board.

“His leadership will be vital as we work towards improving the club both on and off the pitch.”

Reilly added: “I have been involved with QPR for a year and it has been a hugely beneficial experience
to view and assess the club during this period.

“Christian has been able to do likewise since the summer while undertaking a deep-dive of the club,
and this enables him to come in with a full picture of where we are, and what actions are needed to help
us give the fans the club their incredible support deserves.”

Thanks for posting that up Steve Interesting stuff.

I have to say from reading that club Statement I do now feel more confident that we are
or will be keeping up our FFP Fine payments. Surely a new CEO is not about to lead us into
the "cack" over that matter

From a Guardian article in 2023...

'According to Christian Nourry, managing partner at Retexo Intelligence, a football-specialist
advisory firm supporting several American investors in club acquisitions, some are rushing in
without a coherent plan.

“There isn’t a universal definition of success in this field and this is
exactly the trap that I see so many investors falling into,” he says.'

Great to see this change and wondering what else is coming.

Hopefully a sweep of positive change will be led through the club now to keep us up this
season and to start building for improvement.

Shuffling the deck is about all we will be doing in January Steve

Have you folks seen new CEO’s interview?

He tells that we will not be active in the January window and that he believes in the
quality of the squad that we have.

I know that we are potless but I was expecting us to be be resourceful in bringing in a few
effective loans —- are we even going to do that?

BTW. I have just discovered that spellcheck correct potless to plotless. Hmmmm…
is spellcheck spelling it out for us?
