Steve Quashie on Sunday's Game....

Post by Steve Russell »

QPR FC Women boss Steve Quashie is urging supporters to get behind his team as Rangers prepare to host
Norwich City Women at Loftus Road on Sunday.

Quashie's side have made a positive start to the season. After winning three of their opening five league games

and with the crowd behind them in W12, the R's will be determined to secure another victory in this league clash.

The R’s will be gracing the Loftus Road pitch for the first time in the 2023/24 season - and Quashie told us:
"The occasion will give everyone a tremendous boost - players, staff and supporters alike.

"The players because they’ll be playing on the best surface this season, playing on the hallowed turf at
West London’s finest stadium - I’m saying that as a QPR supporter.

"For the staff it will provide an opportunity to experience being in a professional changing room environment.
Being around the hospitality and having the chance to engage with our supporters.

"It will also benefit our performance analysis team who can capture the footage of the game from higher angles,
which is beneficial for everyone’s development."

QPR FC Women have played at Loftus Road three times since the start of the 2021/22 season - facing Norwich City
Women in two of those fixtures.

Quashie added: "This is the third season we have played Norwich at Loftus Road and every year we have seen the
attendance grow; we see younger supporters come through the turnstiles.

"I’m looking forward to seeing even more supporters on Sunday with our fans getting behind the players and creating
an amazing atmosphere."

Quashie also discussed providing opportunities for new signings and academy graduates.

"These are some of the things that we discussed with the players prior to them signing for us in the pre-season
period," he said.

"We’ve told them about the opportunities to really be part of a professional football club where they have excellent
facilities like Hanwell and Heston.

"Ultimately, it’s about playing on the Loftus Road pitch – the same pitch as their male counterparts.

"We hope it will inspire them to perform to their best ability and they can take away some lifelong memories following
Sunday afternoon."
