Switch up front with Sinclair up front and Lyndon in behind - still with Chair and Smyth left and right.

Still no Colback.

Massimo Luongo lining up against us.

Ipswich going well - maybe 2 - 1 to the Hoops. Could we manage that?

Not Dykes but Willock on.
Hoops lucky not to be one nil down as unmarked Tractor Boy heads wide when should have scored
closely followed by Ipswich miskick that could well have been a goal.

Sinclair busy upfront could not have been closer to scoring when his shot hit both posts and came back out.
Morgan looping header shortly after had to be tipped over.

Willock constantly having shirt pulled and competing well today. Sinclair hustled well on the half hour to
get an on target shot from just outside on the box but Ipswich keeper stopped comfortably.

Not long after and Industrious Chair slips between 2 defenders to power a shot narrowly over the bar and
again slips 2 to fire wide from a narrow angle.

Last few minutes of the half sees Smyth slightly over it a pass that would have put Willock through for a
shot and then Ipswich shoot over the bar.

Begovic’s gloves remain in pristine condition to this point.

Second half will start with deadlock yet to be broken. QPR entertaining and doing well to man so far.

Met up with Colin (ESSEXURs) & Bernard (Kerrins) pre-match in the Eagle in the
Askew Road. Also good to see Keith Rowley in there....

Expected a tough match as Ipswich arrived in W12 on a 20-match unbeaten run.

They really should have taken the lead early on when Wes Burns, unmarked at the far post,
somehow headed wide!!!

Remarkable for a different reason was when Sinclair Armstrong strike came off the inside of
one post, then went along the line & hit the other!!!'s

He did really well when he drilled a shot out of nothing, which forced a vg save from
the keeper.

For me the midfield was often too deep to support Sinclair & Paul Smyth had to contend
with high balls over his head!!

Crosses were delayed at times because there was no one in the box to get on the end of
them

Good to see Gerry Francis interviewed on the pitch at ht.

In the 2nd half Osman Kakay could/should have provided the equaliser & Ilias attempted
an audacious lob from over 40 yards which the keeper just managed to scoop over the bar.

Asmir Begovic made an outstanding save....but Conor Chaplin scored the winner in the 75th minute
after his initial effort had been blocked.

Mixed views about the performances of Ilias Chair & Chris Willock :?:

If Charlie Kelman is part of Gareth Ainsworth's plans then where is he?

It was good to meet up with Steve R. Colin W and Keith Rowley at the match on Saturday.

We did have two or three good chances to score but sadly none of these were taken.
However it is no use playing with one player alone upfront without any support and just
hoofing the ball up field.

The Ipswich forwards were superior to ours. They were mostly about pass and move.
They had more than twice as many shots as us although not all on target.
Also the possession stats were much in their favour.

Make no mistake with this current squad of players and set up we will have a huge problem
scoring goals

The most disappointing aspect of the game for me was that, the goal we conceded could and
should have been prevented.

Steve Cook who looks well overweight to me, was slow and casual when challenging for the ball that
eventually ended up in the back of our net. I expected Cook to go to ground and win that challenge
with the Ipswich goalscorer, he wasn’t committed enough for me and ultimately it cost us the game.
