The Forever R's Bar....

Post by Steve Russell »

From the Club...

The Forever R’s Bar will replace the Blue & White Bar this season, officially opening when we host
Ipswich Town at Loftus Road on Saturday 19th August.

The bar, located in the Loftus Road Stand, will see a host of former players make appearances throughout
the season, participating in Q&As or just enjoying a pre-match drink with supporters!

The area has been revamped to pay tribute to all those who have been inducted into The Forever R’s Club,
our ex-players’ association.

While a full list of inductees will be on display, there will also be numerous items of memorabilia which will
be of interest to fans of all ages.

R’s legend Stan Bowles won five England caps during his career – we all know it should have been many more! –
and the club will be proudly displaying his debut cap, courtesy of a generous donation from QPR fan
Steven Astaire.

This was awarded to Stan after his international bow against Portugal on April 3rd 1974.

Brian Bedford joined QPR in 1959 and became the club’s leading post-war goalscorer, netting an incredible 180
goals in 284 appearances.

Trophies presented to Brian by the club in recognition of his goalscoring achievements have been kindly donated
to The Forever R’s Bar by his son Neil and the Bedford family.

A football signed by the 1992/93 side will also be on show. This was gratefully received by the club from the family
of QPR supporter Paul Bucknell, in his memory.

We will also have the Championship trophy which the club won in 2010/11, in which a number of Forever R’s
inductees played key roles.

Rounding off the display in The Forever R’s Bar, will be the Derby County pennant which was presented to R’s
captain Clint Hill by Rams skipper Richard Keogh on May 24th 2014 ahead of the play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
