Richard Reilly Joins the QPR Board...

Post by Steve Russell »

News from the Club...

RICHARD Reilly has been appointed to the QPR board, joining chairman Amit Bhatia, vice-chairmen Ruben Gnanalingam and Tony Fernandes, and Kamarudin Bin Meranun. He has also acquired a minority interest in the ownership of the club.

Reilly was the Founder and CEO of RBI Solar, which manufactures solar-mounting systems for renewable energy projects.

He previously worked at Morgan Stanley as a Financial Analyst in the investment banking division and in the U.S. Department of Commerce as a Special Assistant to the Secretary of Commerce Robert Mosbacher during the first Bush Administration.

Reilly was also the President of RBI Greenhouses. He led the expansion of the company’s manufacturing and sales operations into China, Mexico and Europe.

Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Reilly is a partner in FC Cincinnati (Major League Soccer) and the Cincinnati Reds (Major League Baseball).

Bhatia said: “We are delighted to add Richard’s knowledge and sporting experience to the QPR board.

“As a club, we are regularly approached by people who want to offer their expertise. It is important we carefully consider any additions and what benefits their involvement can have for QPR.

“Richard understands the sporting industry through his involvement in both the MLS and MLB, as well as offering fantastic business acumen.

“He is a fantastic person to have involved with QPR as we continue to push the club forward, both on and off the pitch.

"I am delighted to welcome him to the club.”

Not sure what to make of this.
OK, he's bought into the Club, so maybe an injection of cash.
But I'd like a bit more detail on this guy's "knowledge & sporting expertise" and how he's going to "push the club forward."

I think we will be going solar - the roof of the Ellerslie is south facing.
Lee Hoos is desperate to reduce running costs.

Keith, never mind solar panels; with all these storms, we need a few wind turbines!
