Good news from the Club...
'DANIEL Bennie has agreed a new contract with QPR.
The 19-year-old winger only joined the R’s Development Squad last summer from Perth Glory but
managed to make 13 appearances in all competitions for the first team in his debut season.
The Australia U20 international also helped Paul Furlong’s youngsters lift the Premier League Cup – and
now he is targeting a big second season in W12.
“I’m really pleased,” Bennie said. “I think since I've come, I'm a completely different player. I think you
can see that in my game and how it's evolved, which is good.
“Being away from home for a year, it does help. You have to do everything by yourself and you don't
have your family around to help so it's a good learning experience. I think I've really grown up and I really
enjoyed my first year.”
Looking towards the current campaign and his ambitions for the future, Bennie explained: “I want to play
as much as possible and keep contributing with goals and assists, and just see where that takes me.”
Bennie, who scored his first goal for the senior team in our Carabao Cup tie at Plymouth Argyle last week, #
says he is learning a lot under new head coach Julien Stéphan, adding: “It’s been really good. I really
enjoyed pre-season.
“I can learn some really good stuff off him so I'm excited for what’s to come.”
CEO Christian Nourry said: “This extension is a well-deserved milestone in Daniel’s journey with us.
"Since arriving just over a year ago, Daniel has thrown himself into everything and developed significantly
both physically and technically.”
