Very sad news. One of the most memorable concerts I've ever attended was in the early 70's
at the Hammersmith Odeon.
Rest in Peace....

Sad news from the BBC.
A few months ago I saw 'The Conversation' at the BFI with my son.
May they Rest in Peace....

'Oscar-winning US actor Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa and their dog have been found dead at their
home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

In a career spanning more than six decades, Hackman received two Academy Awards for his work on the movies
The French Connection and Unforgiven.

A statement from the Santa Fe County Sheriff in New Mexico said: "We can confirm that both Gene Hackman and
his wife were found deceased Wednesday afternoon at their residence on Sunset Trail.

"This is an active investigation - however, at this time we do not believe that foul play was a factor."
Hackman was 95, and his wife - a classical pianist - 64.

Very sad news from the BBC, also remember his tribute to Moonie. Rest in Peace....
'Clem Burke, the drummer for 1970s new wave band Blondie, has died aged 70 following a "private battle with
cancer", the band's spokesperson has confirmed to the BBC.

Named one of the greatest drummers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, external, his energetic fills and melodic
flourishes elevated UK number one hits like Call Me, The Tide Is High, Atomic and Heart Of Glass - with Burke deftly
switching between punk, reggae, disco and hip-hop grooves.

In a long and varied career, he also played with Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, The Ramones, Eurythmics and Take That's
Mark Owen.

"Clem was not just a drummer; he was the heartbeat of Blondie," his bandmates said in a tribute posted on Facebook,
external.

"His talent, energy, and passion for music were unmatched, and his contributions to our sound and success are
immeasurable," wrote singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein.

"Beyond his musicianship, Clem was a source of inspiration both on and off the stage. His vibrant spirit, infectious
enthusiasm and rock solid work ethic touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him."

Heard this on the news this morning, surprised kerrins or SteveR didn't mention it, so here goes:
R.I.P. Jean Marsh, co-creator & star of 'Upstairs Downstairs' and, as far as can be ascertained,
no relation to Rodney.
