0-0 Draw in Behind Closed Doors Friendly v Brentford...

Report from the Club...

'QPR played out a goalless draw with Brentford in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the Bees’ training facility
on Thursday.

Deadline-day loan capture Harrison Ashby made his first appearance for Martí Cifuentes’ R’s, who took a strong
squad on the short trip to Jersey Road.

Brentford also fielded a number of first-team players with new signing Fabio Carvalho among those featuring for
the hosts.

The first half was a close encounter in which chances were relatively limited.

Rangers’ Joe Walsh fashioned a smart double stop in the 12th minute, denying both Kevin Schade and Carvalho.
The R’s first went close on 25 minutes when Julian Eyestone saved strongly from Alfie Lloyd.

Meanwhile, just short of the half-hour mark, Brentford’s Ethan Brierley bent his edge-of-the-box attempt just wide
of Walsh’s left-hand post. Rangers also threatened on the stroke of half-time when Jack Colback was just unable to
meet a right-wing cross at the back post - that following good work between Ashby and Hevertton Santos down the
right.

The start to the second half was a little more open and Rangers’ Lloyd was unlucky not to be rewarded for his closing
down of the home ‘keeper on 48 minutes, with a clearance crashing off the QPR frontman but trickling just wide of the
target.

Up the other end on 56 minutes, Walsh pulled off an important improvised stop to tip over Ryan Trevitt’s deflected blast.

Rangers continued to create chances after half-time, with Kader Dembélé and Santos both threatening in the 64th minute.

Michael Frey also had the ball in the net 15 minutes from time - only to be denied for offside - following some tidy passing
play and Kieran Morgan’s sweet left-flank cross.

But this game finished goalless, ultimately. Morgan’s fierce 84th-minute drive, held well by the Brentford ‘keeper, was
Rangers' last real effort of note.

The R’s return to Championship action at Sheffield Wednesday next Saturday.

QPR: Walsh, Ashby (Dembélé 60), Cook (Field 46), Dunne (Shann 80), Colback (Paal 60), Varane, Dixon-Bonner (Morgan 70),
Santos, Andersen (Madsen 60), Saito (Bennie 70), Lloyd (Frey 60).'
