Brighton Yesterday....

Post by Steve Russell »

The Upper Loft was closed so I ended up in the Lower.

The match programme listed a 42 Brighton squad

Brighton fielded a strong side & pretty much dominated possession.

Playing the ball from the back often resulted in it being given way, going for
a throw-in our own half twice & even ended up for a corner on one occasion.

Jake Clarke-Salter made an amazing clearance on the line.

Apart from making a vg save, Paul Nardi pushed the ball wide to safety.

There was another occasion when he had to quickly change direction to
grab the ball near the goal-line after the ball had been deflected.

Well done again to Rayan Kolli. He was always getting into space &
looking for the ball.

Jimmy Dunne did very well.

Ilias Chair was apparently in the Club Shop before the game.

Attendance: 7,767
And around 2,300 away fans.

Watched the game courtesy of the Brighton website. Free of charge and with replays please note QPR.

Our usual problems of little interpassing around the area and few goal attempts were on show. I thought our
defending has vastly improved and we have yet another great goalkeeper to add to our long list. He looked
very calm under pressure.

Dunne had a great game and Kolli impressed until he tired.

The return of Chair will make a big difference as we missed his creativity.
