'DEFENDER Joe Gubbins will be leaving QPR when his contract expires this summer.
The centre-back joined the R’s from Southampton seven years ago and went on to make his first-team debut
in our FA Cup win against Swansea City in January 2020.
The 22-year-old experienced spells on loan at Oxford City, Aldershot Town and Southend United before spending
the 2023/24 campaign with Accrington Stanley in League Two.
Gubbins made five first-team appearances during his time with QPR.
CEO Christian Nourry said: "Joe had an immensely pleasing loan spell where he demonstrated that his ball-playing
attributes are matched by a physical robustness that can meet the demands of EFL football.
“Whilst we do not feel that there will be opportunities for him at QPR at this present time, he remains a player that
we will watch with close interest. I wish him much success."
