Preston on Saturday.....

Post by Steve Russell »

There was a minute's applause prior to kick-off in memory of
Tom Hyett, Leighton James & John Gerard.

And on 14 mins we remembered young Teddy.

At ht Alan McDonald's wife & son were interviewed on the pitch.
May they all Rest in Peace...

As for the game, I did check later whether Freddie Woodman
was born in West London

Despite his cock-up, well done to Lyndon for being well-placed to
take his goal.

His one-on-one attempt when he failed to hit the target aside, I
thought he had a decent game.

My player of the season, Jake Clarke-Salter was also my MOM.
Well done Jake.

17 shots with seven of them on target.

Great support from the Rangers fans.....
Attendance; 16,464 with lots of gaps in the away section.

steveqpr881, did you eventually get in the Club Shop?

Spoke briefly to Rayan Kolli before the game who said he was
almost ready to make his return.

Told that Ian Watson was at the game.

SteveR, I never managed to get into the Club shop ("Superstore, shurely?? - ed.)
Or get a bag of chips before the game.
OR a ticket for Coventry.
Still, the day wasn't a complete write-off!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the game - thought it was very close, I could see Preston score at any time;
so Lyndon scoring after just 20 mins was a great relief & really took the pressure off.
OK, he missed an absolute sitter 2nd half - you or I would've put it away -
but it's the ones that go in that count.

Looking forward to Leeds on Friday.

Closer than it should have been. We dominated. Preston not in it except for the first ten minutes
and the last ten minutes.

If we had even a half decent striker/ Goal scorer that game would have been put to bed way before
the final whistle In the end we had to rely on a keeper howler and a first goal in 15 games for dykes
that even I could have scored!
