Blackburn Game
Big game this weekend vs Blackburn who have been on the slide but have top scorer Scmodicz
with over 20 goals to his name this season.
With Sheff Wed playing The Terriers, we could see Huddersfield creating further distance from us or
Sheff Wed putting us under further pressure. Whichever way that game goes, we need the win tomorrow.
With 1 new striker, 2 new midfielders and 1 new winger to select, it will be interesting to see what team
Marti puts out and how they get on.
We are going to have to be organised, cohesive, energetic and on the attack from the off.
As already stated on this site this week, draws will not pull us out of the mire.
Andersen is known most for playing right wing and can play left. Frey can certainly find the net (bar his
fry run at Shalke). Our new mids are coming from premier and should be competitive at this level.
Should be a good watch. Got to be busting a gut for wins from here on in.

Re: Blackburn Game
Will be interesting to see tomorrow's squad & who will be left out.
Our man in the North, Kerrins, will be there to report for us.

Re: Blackburn Game
Indeed I will be there at the game.
I reckon we have to get Frey in the team ring the changes and roll the dice.
Certainly if we pick from that squad of players that turned out against Huddersfield I fear the worst.
Blackburn are only a mid table team but they have some decent forwards and it is very likely they will
score at least one goal on their own ground. If that happens current form suggests we can't win the game.
New Blood must be injected

Re: Blackburn Game
Massive 3 points
Kerrins tells me that we sat too deep in the closing stages.
But great display after the subs came on & good quality football
overall.

First win there since 1999

Re: Blackburn Game
A massive result at Blackburn today, 7 points from the last nine has been a good return.
Good to see the new boys thrown in today, hopefully they will improve as the season goes along.
On to the next game now and another positive result.

Re: Blackburn Game
That was a good win, all things considered & a good sign for an improvement in our form.
Survival is now looking more likely than ever before, IMO.

Re: Blackburn Game
Yes a massive three points for us. I was at the game.
In the first half it was an even contest. We had a number of decent attacks but to be honest
I don't think we looked like scoring and early in the second half when Armstrong missed a one on one
with the keeper I never ever thought we were going to find the back of the net.
However subsequently our genius manager made superb substitutions which changed the course of the game.
We promptly hit a purple patch and soon established a two goal lead.
We were dangerous going forward and above all we looked like scoring!!.That's not been much in evidence
this season.
Blackburn pulled a goal back out of nothing against the run of play and near the very end we tended to sit too deep.
Ten minutes of time added on What the Hell Never! I nearly swore!
Just before the final whistle there was a lot of nervous tension around where I was sitting mainly emanating from
yours truly but the players were determined that the fat lady was not going to rob them of a deserved victory.
Footnote Our manager favours a possession game and likes us to pass the ball around even on the edge of our own
penalty area...OK at times it does appear to be a bit dodgy and we are after all not Manchester City.....but a
dose of culture and sophistication is starting to enter our style. We have to take the method on board.

Re: Blackburn Game
Bernard almost swore
I did see that Sinclair set up the second goal.
They also showed Begovics's superb save when he finger-tipped
the ball over the bar.
Thanks for the report Bernard & for the texts during the match.
